[He chuckles and orders two for them. He pays for it through his communication device and hands one over to her.]

Anyway... my hometown was mostly a producer of fruit. But we had one fruit that couldn't be grown anywhere else on my planet -- the Banora White Apple. Nicknamed "dumbapples", because they became ripe at irregular times of the year. We could never predict when harvest time was.

[When he handed one over to her she carefully took a sip with out waiting, a soft Mmmm sound given at the taste. This wasn't too bad.]

Cute name for them. Dumbapples. Must be a pain in the butt to grow though if they have no normal harvest time. It's still impressive, growing up like that. You at least produced something that others could eat. All me or my father ever did was play games. I suppose that produces entertainment though.

[She nodded for him to follow, finding a table for two and slipping into a chair, grinning as she sat her drink down.] Thank you, by the way, for the drink. It's not too bad.

Playing games, huh... at least you seem to have had a fun kind of childhood. But I've had my share of fun, too.

[He sits down across from her and has a sip of his drink, too.]

I suppose it could be better-- but it is pretty refreshing for where we are right now.

It wasn't a bad childhood. My dad was a pro gamer and got me into the field. I surpassed him though. [she said with pride, grinning at that.]

[Another sip of her drink and she settled in on a leg to get comfortable. Talking to Genesis was nice. He seemed to have relaxed a bit as well.]

It's not bad though. And a energy boost will be great. If it works that way. But hey, what do you think of this place so far? I literally just got here and It's all a bit chaotic to me.

[ It's good to see that she's proud of her background. He thinks to himself then that it would be best to hide the rest of his from her, then. ]

To be honest... it's... alright, I suppose?

[He takes a moment to compose himself, decide what to say next...]

[Her background wasn't that big though. It wasn't too bad either. There wasn't anything not to be proud of. It didn't mean she wouldn't want to hear about the other though.]

I mean, I would rather be back home, but it's not the worst adventure to be on.

[but her head tilted as he said that, a curious look on her face.]

Discharged from service? As in your time was up?

In a way, yes.

[ He'll hide that he's actually reluctant to tell her anything about his situation. He looks out into the sea. ]

... I haven't been to a beach in a long time. This is truly beautiful.

[She took a sip of her drink, watching him. He couldn't be a hell of a lot older than her, could he? He had such brooding eyes sometimes. She decided not to push on the discharge thing, yet. There would be time.]

It is a pretty nice view. I hear they have scuba diving out here as well.

Have you ever done that?

[ He looks at her, interested. ]

With some friends, when I was in high school. It was a lot of fun.

[She smirked, taking another sip of her drink.] Have you? The beach is always fun, and I love the water. Though the last time I hit water I broke my leg. Which was.... just before coming here.

[He'd ask where she hit water and why her leg broke, but it comes to him easily: it was from fighting. He nearly forgot that she was a soldier, too.]

I've never gone scuba diving. Just swimming in the ocean for me.

[He shakes his head.]

I spent most of my younger years studying and training.

[It's okay to forget she's a soldier too. She understands she doesn't present as one well. But yes, it was a fight.]

Well, it's basically swimming in the ocean. Just deeper. [She winked at that.]

Your younger years, you say, as if you're so old now. Maybe in this place you can try new things.

Well, how old do you think I am, Hana?

[Genesis smirks, maybe a bit curious about what she thought of him.]

[She moved to rest an elbow on the table, propping her head in her hand and studying him, looking over his face, his well toned body. Staring at his eyes a moment longer.]

Hmm, twenty four to twenty six. You're face is deceivingly youthful, but your eyes are deceivingly old. You've seen a lot. Sounds like you've been a soldier for more then a few years, so you're not as young as I am.

That's quite the insightful compliment.

[He chuckles.]

And you were nearly on the mark. I'm about twenty seven, if I've counted the years correctly. Things get a bit messy in war.

[She took another sip of her drink, smiling softly as he says that. That things get messy in war. She knew that well enough, but she was the other way. She kept actually counting the days till the next attack. A different kind of war though.]

Damn, I was so close. I'm generally terrible at guessing ages though. Too many factors. Too many ways that a person can look younger than they are.

[He chuckles at that again. He could get used to this, he thinks. It's nice actually being able to sit back and enjoy another person's company.]

Indeed. I'd guess at your age, but I believe it's rude to ask a lady, right?
